January 16th, 5 p.m. at St. Thomas Lutheran Church and 6 p.m. at University Baptist Church

Pastors Annette Hill Briggs, Lyle McKee and Rabbi Mira Wasserman are planning a program, “Baptists, Jews & Lutherans; Can We Get Along?” for Sunday evening, January 16th.  We’ll gather at St.Thomas at 5 p.m. for a soup and bread dinner, then head to UBC at 6 p.m. for the program.  Pastors and Rabbi will share their religious stories, talk about relating to believers of other religions and living in a changing religious culture. We’ll have time for questions and discussion followed by dessert.   Childcare will be provided for kids three and younger.

January 17th, 10 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church Team Up to Make a Difference

This is an opportunity for people of all ages to remember and re-commit to Dr. King’s teachings, through music and activism. Members of Beth Shalom and the Unitarian Universalist Church will gather to commemorate the legacy of Dr. King and interact in a program of song, theater and social action.  Make it a "Day on" by working on a service project assembling "goody bags" for children visiting the Family Resource Centers of the Shalom Center. Congregants of all ages are encouraged to attend. There will be opportunities for everyone to participate in this meaningful activity. To ask questions or volunteer, please call or email Debby Allmayer, SocialAction@bethshalom-bjc.org.
